About WHEAT Company
The Wheat Heritage Engine and Threshing (WHEAT) Company is a non-profit group dedicated to preserving an interest in yesteryear’s agriculture and rural lifestyle.
With headquarters in Goessel Kansas, The WHEAT Company has made its home alongside the noted Mennonite Heritage Museum.
The Wheat Heritage Engine and Threshing Company was chartered in 1973 by seventeen Central Kansas antique engine enthusiasts.
This cross-generational group seeks to preserve agricultural interests of the area. Older members of the group provide memories of the long, hard days with the threshing crews on the hot prairie. Younger members relive the stories told by their parents and grandparents by re-enacting this major part of life on the farm.
The hard physical labor of generations past has become a “fun hobby” for this group’s annual demonstration.
